Overview
Up for sale is a 1988 Range Rover Classic finished in its original Ardennes Green. This is a running and driving project that has recently been mechanically refreshed. It has mostly sat since I purchased it 10 years ago, with only 762 miles put on it during that time. Don't have time for another project.
This is a usable classic—not a restored show truck.
Mechanical Condition
The truck starts easily, runs well, and drives.
Recent work completed includes:
-
Fuel system refresh (injectors, pump, MAF)
-
Ignition system (coil, wires, cap, rotor)
-
New starter
-
New battery
-
Cooling system service
-
Fluids flushed
-
Transmission engages properly and drives well
- Transfer case works well, great in the snow
-
Shifter has slightly firm engagement (typical for age/sitting)
-
Had a 1993 Range Rover Radiator and Alternator installed by previous owner
Usage / History
This vehicle has seen very light use over the past several years (approximately 762 miles in the last 10 years), has been in long-term storage.
It has been recently recommissioned to return it to running condition.
Interior
-
Original interior is mostly complete
-
Normal wear consistent with age
-
Driver’s seat shows wear with a tear
-
Some items (radio, etc.) are not currently working
Body & Condition
This is an honest classic, not a rust-free or restored example.
-
Frame, rockers, and structure are solid from what I can see
- Looks like something fell on the hood at some point in its life and dented it, as well as the roof
- Headliner is a little droopy
- Sun roof does not work
-
Floor pans were previously repaired and are structurally sound, has surface rust
-
Typical Range Rover rust present:
-
Battery tray area
-
Rail on top of fender
- Panel where heat exchanger is
-
General surface rust on frame but solid
