Owner’s Description
“Up for sale is my 1965
Ford F-100 Custom Cab flatbed, built in a clean rat rod style with a ton of
recent work and modern upgrades. This truck is powered by a freshly rebuilt FE
390 with roughly 1,500 miles on it. All machining was completed by a custom
shop, and nearly every component on the engine is new aside from a mild cam
that was kept due to its excellent condition. It’s paired with a C6 automatic
transmission that operates as it should. The truck has been upgraded with a full
ACEs EFI system, including an in-tank high-pressure fuel system with return
line, distributor, and blackjack coil for reliable, turnkey operation. A 7-inch
display in the cab allows for real-time control of tuning, timing, fuel
mapping, cooling fans, throttle position, and more. Over the past year and a
half, almost every part of this truck has been gone through. It features a full
rewire with a Kwik Wire harness, LED lighting throughout, 4-wheel disc brakes
with booster and proportioning valve, new driveline components, and a
professionally balanced driveshaft. Inside, the cab has been updated with new
carpet, sound deadening, and custom upholstery, along with a modern stereo
system with Kicker speakers and a switch-controlled subwoofer. The flatbed has
been redone with new sanded and stained 2x12 wood, along with lockable storage
boxes underneath. The gas tank has been relocated to the rear of the truck for
added safety. The exterior is finished in Plasti Dip, offering a durable,
peelable coating that allows you to keep the current look or easily change it
to paint or patina. The truck is about 97% complete, with just a few minor
items left: the Ford 9-inch rear end seal should be replaced, the heater is not
currently functioning, windshield wipers need wiring, and the fuel gauge is not
installed (the EFI display provides engine data). Some factory gauges are not
hooked up for the same reason. With only about 1,500 miles on the build, it may
benefit from a general once-over after a bit more driving as everything
settles. This is a well-built, unique F-100 with modern drivability and classic
style. Only selling to move on to another project. Additional photos of parts/receipts
are available upon request.”
