Studebaker Custom Street Rod Pickup – LS Power, Air Ride, and Hydroboost Brakes
Professionally built from the ground up, this 1950
Studebaker custom street rod pickup blends classic styling with modern
performance, comfort, and reliability. Every detail was carefully designed for
show-quality looks and real-world drivability.
Under the hood sits a 6.0L LQ9 LS engine with Texas Speed
cam, Holley Hi-Ram intake, 95mm throttle body, and custom tune, backed by a
4L80E automatic transmission and PTC converter. Power flows to a 1970 Ford
8-inch rear axle with TrueTrac posi and 4.10 gears. Exhaust runs through
stainless 2.5-inch mandrel-bent pipes and SpinTech mufflers for a deep, clean
tone.
The chassis features a boxed and modified Studebaker frame,
Mustang II front suspension, and 4-link rear with a fully integrated RideTech
AirPod air ride system (Bluetooth and level sensors). Braking is handled by
Baer 13.5” 4-wheel discs with GM Hydroboost power assist for modern stopping
performance.
The body showcases shaved drip rails, Kindig-It handles,
frenched headlights, Cadillac LED tail lights, and a 3-inch pie-cut hood. It’s
finished in House of Kolor Hot Rod Black and topped off with a custom oak bed,
Yakisugi-treated for durability and character.
Inside, a 1959 Impala dash houses Dakota Digital VHX gauges
and a full Kenwood Bluetooth audio system with subwoofer and amp. Comfort comes
from Vintage Air heat and A/C, tilt steering, power windows, remote entry, and
Dynamat insulation throughout.
This Studebaker is a show-quality, street-ready custom that
delivers power, comfort, and head-turning style everywhere it goes.
