DESCRIPTION:
1947 Ford Coupe Street Rod all steel body with a 2 ½”
chopped top, frenched LED headlights, custom LED taillights, filled seams, and
powered by a 383 cu. in. ‘stroker’ Chevrolet V8 with a 700R4 automatic transmission.
Multi-color paint is a 2-stage urethane.

The current owner purchased the Ford out of Michigan
approximately 16 years ago when it was about 95% complete. Once in their
possession the car had the wiring and the interior completed.
This ’47 comes complete with Vintage Air A/C, heat
& defrost, power steering, power brakes (disc front & drums rear),
power windows, and a Sony AM/FM/CD player with 4-speaker stereo.
Since taking completing the ‘47 Coupe it has logged
just over 12,000 miles. It starts easily, runs strong, and everything appears
to function. Multiply show winner and draws attention wherever it goes.
Specifications:
Body & Paint:
Two-stage urethane paint on an all steel body. Custom
body work includes shaved door handles (opens with poppers), nosed, decked, 2 ½”
chopped top, frenched rear license plate, frenched headlights, custom
taillights, and shaved drip rails. There are some “age related” cracks and
chips, please view all photos carefully.
Engine & Transmission:
According to the owner the 350 cu. in. Chevy V8 was
bored and stroked to 383 cu. in. and runs on pump gas. The cam is believed to
be a hydraulic roller with roller rocker arms and uses a Jesel gear drive. Topping
it off is an Edelbrock 700 cfm carburetor, Weiand intake manifold, ceramic
coated ‘shorty’ headers, HEI ignition, and 2 ½” exhaust with FlowMaster
mufflers.
Rebuilt 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with deep
pan.
Chassis:
Completely ‘boxed’ frame using an early model Camaro front
end with power steering and sway bar. The rear suspension is from an early ‘70’s
Chevelle using upper and lower control arms with coil over shocks. The Coupe
rides on 15” Boyd Coddington polished aluminum wheels with Uniroyal 195/65R/15
radials up front and 205/75R/15 in the rear.
Interior:
Custom interior featuring bucket seats with lap
seatbelts, cloth and vinyl upholstery, tilt steering column, custom console for
power window switches, 12-volt adaptors, AM/FM/CD player, A/C & heater
vents, fully functional VDO gauges including speedometer/odometer, fuel,
tachometer, voltmeter, oil pressure, and water temperature. There appears to be
no broken seams or tears in the upholstery.
The trunk was done by the current owner and has compartments
for the battery, cleaning supplies, and ‘jumper’ terminals.
Overall, this ’47 appears to be a quality built and a
reliable Street Rod anyone would enjoy taking on a long cruise or up to a local
show. No disappointments.
