The 1936 Ford Phaeton is a classy open-top touring car with timeless appeal. Sporting a tan interior and sleek black exterior, it offers four seats and four doors for easy access. With just 7,365 miles since its restoration 40 years ago, this well-kept beauty is bound to draw attention. Its clean title and excellent condition make it a prize for collectors and vintage car lovers alike.
Part of Ford’s Model 68 lineup, the ’36 Phaeton marked an important chapter in American automotive history. As the Great Depression waned, Ford launched this model at $590, making it one of the pricier body styles of its day.
Only 5,555 Phaetons rolled out in 1936, each offered exclusively as a deluxe version, adding to its rarity.
Engine: Powered by a 221ci Flathead V8 with 85 horsepower, it showcased Ford’s engineering prowess of the era.
My father acquired this car in 1960 from Gouldsboro, ME, and it was used occasionally each summer. In the mid 70's he initiated the restoration which took 10 years, only working on it in the summers. Very well done while keeping the car as original as possible.
He greatly enjoyed the car and I have as well, taking it out for short rides and attending local car shows of which it always garners attention, even today. I seek to move the vehicle to a new home whereby it will be cherished as is or to be restored fresh to another level.
